Chinese Food in Perth

I get to go to Chinese restaurants quite often while my future-in-laws are in Perth.  Although I like Chinese, I prefer not going there more than 3 times a week…  It’s just bause I know Chinese food are high in calories.

Chinese restaurants , which I often go to, include Chinese, Chinese Malaysian and Chinese Vietnamese.  Here are some of my favorite dish at some Chinese restaurants in Perth….

Northbridge Chinese Restaurant at 26 Roe st in Northbridge.

This place is always full.  For entree we usually order deep-fried silverfish, and jellyfish platter.

Yu Chinese at Burswood Entertainment Complex

This place is stunning.  High level service, expensive atmosphere…  I just can’t forget their Honey Prawn!  Super big juicy plump prawn, and it was really tasty.

Welcome Inn Tea House at 354 William St, Northbridge

This is the place I usually go for yum-cha.  The fried-squid and chicken feet are very nice ♪

Bateman Chinese Malaysian at 6/22 Parry Ave, Bateman

This is one of my favorite Chinese Malay food: fish head needle soup.  Even though this restaurant is small, people go there looking for the tasty noodle!

Billy Lees at 15/66 Roe Street, Northbridge

Open till late.  I love their seafood porridge!

South Ocean at Kardinya

I recommend Japanese tofu with Seafood, Peking Beef and Crab Noodle.

The Red Teapot at 413 William St, Northbridge

Despite the size of the place, this is a very famous restaurant.  Start with Deep Fried Squid or Shredded Chicken with Jellyfish, and have Crispy Chicken with Special Dipping Sauce and Golden Soft Shell Crab for main!

Hawker’s Cuisine at 17/66 Roe St, Northbridge

All the dish here is so nice… I love their Sambal Squid, Kai Lan, and Bakar Fish.  You’ll need to make a booking for sure.

    Hi Iruma 🙂

You can get the dish of chicken with lots of spring onion at Billy Lees in Northbridge. (15/66 Roe Street).
I remember that the name of the dish was “Garlic Chicken”.

It was really nice, I hope you’ll like it too 🙂

Love the food montage! I haven’t been to Bateman Chinese Eating House in years! My family and I used to go there after my yr 11 and 12 exams… I guess they were trying to release my stress by eating good food. 😉

Not a fan of Welcome Inn and Billy Lees though. My memories of Welcome Inn are dirtiness and roaches. That was a long time ago though. Billy Lees was awful – I found hair (of the pubic variety) in my food and they wouldn’t apologise or refund us!! Gross huh?

By the way, would you be interested in meeting up with other Perth food and drink bloggers? Email me 🙂

That’s not a right thing to do! 🙁

Well, I actually have experiences working in restaurants in Perth, and I know some kitchens are really really dirty…
There are few restaurants I will never go to.

I’d love to meet up with other food lovers in Perth! Thanks for the opportunity 🙂

    Hi Ume,

I went to Bateman Chinese last weekend with my friends to try their foods. We had the deep fried fish heads, they’re pretty crispy, remind me somehow of KFC chicken :). We seem to get different varieties of fish heads though.

We all think they’re pretty good. Excellent value for money. Thanks for recommending the restaurant. Service was ok, a little slow and if you seat inside, chances that are you have to shower afterwards 🙂 (the oily smell)

Thanks again. By the way, I read your post about Dim Sum in Perth, do you have any opinion on the best Dim Sum in town?

    Hi Thang
    Thanks for visiting!
Yes, if you eat at the restaurant you might have to wash your clothes and body straight away.. but the food is nice;)

Best Dim Sum in town… I usually go to Welcome Inn Tea House, Northbridge Chinese Restaurant, or the one in Leederville (I forgot the name!) which is near a hospital.
One of my friend seems to go to Emma’s Seafood in Northbrigdge often.
I sometimes go to Foo Gwai Chinese Restaurant in Canning Hwy too. Their food and service is good, I think 🙂
